MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE

DIRECTOR

Dear Friend,

It’s easy, sometimes, to read stories and statistics in a report or a newsletter and to forget just how much is behind each one: all the prayer, the planning, the execution, the funding, the follow-up. It can be easy to forget all the people who worked tirelessly to make each accomplishment happen. It can be easy, too, to go numb to the awesome power of God pulsing behind all of it, his Spirit moving in indescribable ways to make all of it happen.

My hope for you as you engage the stories and statistics in this Annual Impact Report is that you will stay awake to all of the miraculous, providential puzzle pieces that have moved into place to make each story and statistic possible. And if this past year you prayed for ASJ’s work, or gave a gift, or shared about ASJ with your family or your church, I hope you will see that one of those miraculous, providential puzzle pieces has your name on it.

This work–the work of joining God in bringing his peace and justice into broken places–belongs to all of us. The stories of success and the statistics proving progress that follow in this report belong to you. They belong to me. They belong to us.

They belong to everyone who raises their hand to say, “Here I am, Lord. Send me.”
