Christian Organizations Promoting Justice in Central America
Across Central America, injustice and corruption continue to harm vulnerable communities—but Christian organizations are stepping up with a bold, faith-driven response. At ASJ (Association for a More Just Society), we are part of a growing movement of believers who see justice not as charity, but as a biblical mandate. Rooted in our Christian faith, we partner with local leaders, churches, and international allies to expose injustice, defend human rights, and transform public systems through accountability and truth. Our work in Honduras—focused on education, health, policing, and anti-corruption—is a model of how Christian values can lead to real, systemic change.
Why are Christian organizations involved in justice work in Central America?
Because justice is central to the Gospel. Many Christian organizations, including ASJ, believe that faith without action is incomplete. These organizations work to defend the oppressed, challenge corruption, and care for the poor as an expression of God’s love and justice in society.
What makes ASJ different from other Christian nonprofits?
ASJ combines faith with professional, evidence-based advocacy. We don’t just raise awareness or point out what is broken—we partner directly with government institutions to offer solutions and help reform broken systems from the inside. Our team includes lawyers, investigators, and faith leaders working together for long-term impact.
How can my church get involved in promoting justice with ASJ?
Churches can partner with ASJ by joining our prayer network, hosting justice-focused events, supporting financially, or sharing our educational resources with their congregation. We believe the Church plays a vital role in the fight for justice—both locally and globally.
We strive to be brave Christians, dedicated to doing justice in Honduras and to inspiring others around the world to seek justice in their own contexts.
In Honduras
We work together with our partner organization ASJ-Honduras as they seek justice, work for peace, and lead systemic reform in Honduras.
Written by ASJ Co-Founder Kurt Ver Beek and Christian philosopher Nicholas Wolterstorff, Call for Justice draws on stories from Honduras to illustrate what it means to do justice. It provides a practical and inspiring guide to seeking justice in our everyday lives.
As a Justice Partner, you are part of a committed group of supporters who give monthly to sustain the work of justice. Justice Partners are a community of over 285 passionate justice-seekers who believe that building a more just society in Honduras is possible.
